1984 Dodge Marksman 1000

I have a Winchester Model 94 XTR 30-30 serial # 5115188. It is a Dodge Marksman edition. Gun has never been fired and is in almost perfect shape. I keep getting different info about this gun. Maybe there were only 1000 made, maybe not. One gun shop told me go ahead and shoot it, would not affect value. Went to an indoor range today and the guy at the pro shop said these are highly desirable not too fire it. Any info would be appreciated.

Winchester commemoratives are a mixed bag, but generally do not draw big bucks, especially after being fired. Collectors usually want the commemoratives in pristine unfired condition, better if you have the box it came in and hang tags. Once fired, I would guess that rifle might be worth $600-$800.

i do have box and all tags, i dont plan on selling gun but if it could one day be valuable i would like to pass on to my son, if not, i'd like to shoot it with him. Gun belonged to my grandfather.

they gave them away when you bought the marksman package truck. Now if you had the truck too in that kind of shape youd really have something.

They may have only made 1000 of this particular gun, but Winchester made hundreds of runs of different "special rifles". Some truly are collectable. If you find the right person this one may be worth a bit more than a standard 94 but to me it detracts from the value.

Saw it on another forum somewhere. Don't remember which one.
