338 win Mag "light bullets"

Has any one tried the light (180-185) gr bullets for 338's.

I just got a beauty of a Ruger #1s and am interested in loading these bullets (Nosler and Barnes)

Any conversation welcome.

If these bullets are fairly short, the question would be whether the rifling's twist is slow enough to stabilize them. I'm guessing that the common use of longer bullets might have caused the twist to be a bit fast. Just something to consider; I don't really know.

A problem could be that the groups just won't be as tight as you'd like...

Somebody once posted a formula for bullet weight/caliber/length and rifling twist. I goofed; didn't write it down. Stupid me.

I'm having pretty good luck with the Nosler 180 gr BTips. A max charge of H-4350 sends 'em out at about 3100, and they work very well on antelope...

what kind of effect do the 180 BT's have? lots of expansion? What range to target?
