Help! Springfield XD w/ Wolf Guide Rod/Spring Assy Problem

Have a Springfield XD 4" Service Model. I just installed a Wolf Recoil Spring/Guide Rod assembly (apparently not a good idea). The spring and guide rod both specify my particular model gun exactly on the label. After installing, the weapon seems to function perfectly (with snap caps, haven't tried live firing). However, now I find I can't rotate the Disassembly Lever the full 90 deg to field strip the weapon. The lever will only rotate about 30-40 deg. Not enough to remove the slide. Anyone else run into this problem?
