Just for the heck of it I wikied bluing, and it states that bluing is the black oxide of iron which is magnetite. It offers minimal protection against rust etc. Yes it is not stainless, but it sure looks good.

I'd like to see a serious backpacking rifle

Lots of companies do this and then chamber them in a super short magnum to get maximum performance out of such a short barrel.

I'd like to see a mid length chambering for classic calibers like 6.5X55, 7X57, .257 Roberts, etc, etc.
A lightweight rifle that is as easy to shoot WELL as it is to carry.

I have a similar style shotgun I have for backpacking. the way it folds completely is awesome. I haven't seen these rifles anywhere, but from Chiappa they can't be too expensive.

Browning x bolt 30-30, Browning BLR 30-30

30-30 is a nice cartridge. Wished there were some better guns shooting it.

The Martini Henry is an outstanding action design and it is a shame that actions made from modern materials are not being made.

A hunting semi-auto that is based around a short action case.
Not just putting a short action caliber in a longer gun.
Not some military looking thing.

Make an auto loader for the 35 Rem with wood stock, removeable magazine, bring it in under 7# with 18.5" barrel, I'd bet you'd sell quite a few.

I'd love to see Rem make a 7600 Carbine for the 358 Win.

Since we can use a single-shot above .35 caliber in Mississippi for primitive weapon, I've heard alot of people complain because nobody chambers for the 35 Remington. Not T/C, CVA, H&R, nobody. They all chamber in 35 Whelen, but for the recoil sensitive, the 35 Remington would be nice in a single shot.

I also would like to see a semi-auto .357 rifle. That would be a kick in the pants. It would compliment my Python,Marlin and Coonan.
