HELP - AMRS AR Scope mount

If you have a A1/A2 (carry handle) AR scope mount like mine, perhaps you know how the "unique self-locking thumbnut" is supposed to work. My mount came with no instructions and I don't have a clue how I'm supposed to get the nut tight enough to maintain zero. Should I make-up a mini strap wrench, replace it with a hex nut and lock washer or what?

Just get it as tight as you can with your fingers. It will not loosen.

Finger tight and then maybe use a paint pen to give you witness marks so you can return it to about the same place if you remove it. (Never used a carry handle mount but that's what I've always done with my ACOGs)
