While Ruger 10/22's have a wide variety of aftermarket barrels available that are easily changed out, the Mini-14 does not. I think Shilen (SP?) has one available for the Mini it, but it will take a GOOD gunsmith to install and fit it on your mini properly.
Finding a M14 style barrel for the Mini will be next to impossible to find, sorry.

you could buy an m1-a for the price of doing what you suugest. you would not only have to fit the m-14 barrel you would have to use the m-14 gas system and op-rod. the receiver would have to be modified and since it is narrower than a m-14 receiver that would take some doing.

There are two outfits with confusingly similar names that specialize in Rugers.
Their main product is heavy barrels or "tuners" to improve accuracy but they might be willing to make you a faux M14 looking barrel. http://accuracyriflesystems3.homestead.com/ I had an ARS heavy barrel on my Mini and it improved accuracy a good deal. It did not look particularly kewl but it shot well. http://www.accuracysystemsinc.com/index.php These folks have a wider assortment of muzzle appliances. |
