when i get that response to a question, i further ask "why is it better?" usually they don't know. |

Do I understand correctly....
....That they only come in one charge volume equivalent? 30 Gr?
That would be a problem for obvious reasons. Tnx,

Wait....
I meant one charge volume equivalent for revolvers.
I am assuming the 50 cal is too big to go inside a Walker chamber.

Hodgdon does make .45/50 grain equivalent pellets but they're listed to only be used with 209 primers.
I suppose that a tiny booster charge of loose powder under the pellet could insure that it would fire in the Walker. http://www.hodgdon.com/tripleseven-pellets.html |

I am about to render an opinion......
and it is only my opinion.
My thought is that for me, I will continue with loose powder. If you go to the various distributer sites you get prices from 20.00 to 28.00 for a hundred shots. That alone turns me off. You get one and only one charge. That charge would be right for a maximum of half of my revolvers. It seems as though there are additional precautions with the pellets which imply that there are additional dangers. I do agree that for some the advantages make them worth while.

why would you want to use pellets in a revolver any way? They cost twice as much and just don't last long in storage.
