Marlin Model 1893 in 32-40 take down model

I bought a older Marlin 1893 32-40 rifle 15 years ago and I'm now looking to find out some more about it. It has a octagon barrel and the action works good. It has marlin safety stamped on the top of the receiver. it is a take down model that does not work. it looks like someone has tried to use vice to get the take down lever broke loose. i have seen other rifles like it at gun shows but none of them have the take down feature. does anyone know where i can find out more about it along with the est price.

I recently saw one selling at Cabela's for just under $600.
