When I reload for my 9mm and 40s&w I have no problems with them fitting into
my case gauge. 45acp is what gives me issues. Next time I reload them I will try re-adjusting the die. It just may work. Since I just banged out around 1k of them I'm probably set for 2012. |

I don't use a fcd on my 9mm but always on my .40. I know without a doubt that my .40s will stay put.

fix the problem
I reload a lot of pistol ammo. If mine won't chamber I have made an error that needs to be corrected. I would rather cure the ill rather than iron out my errors.

Nothing is too good for our little friends. I load perfect ammo, and run it through a factory crimp die. That way I avoid chambering every round just to fit check it. My reloads work in anything, which is more than I can say about factory loads. I take the opposite tack to reloads for personal defense. I don't trust factory loads for "critical" applications. Do you know where your ammo was made? Or am I just being ammo retentive?

It isn't so much a matter of "error" as case-bullet-chamber diameter tolerences stacking too far the wrong way. If a chamber is loose enough there will be no problem anyway but not all are. |
