Ruger American .243....short/long action?

Just as the title states, is the .243 version of the Ruger American built on a short or long action reciever? The only one I've yet to see in person was the '06 and I was just wondering if they used the same long action reciever for all the calibers.

This probably isn't nearly as definitive an answer as you'd like, but based on a comparison of the overall length figures on Ruger's website it looks like there are probably two different action lengths.

The LOP and barrel lengths are identical between the .243/.308 and .30-06/270 Ruger American Rifles and yet the .30-06/.270 rifles are 0.5" longer overall.

What JohnSKa said. 1/2" difference in lengths.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I didn't even think to look at the OAL of each caliber and compare that.
