Bench top height for sitting?

I am building a new work area, with a built in bench. I will be sitting, what is the ideal bench top height?

How wide is a Dillon 550B including completed cartridge catcher?

The new bench will be 28” deep and 8 foot long

Wouldn't that depend on height of you choice of chair or stool?

I built my bench so I could work at it while standing then I got an old drafting chair that I can raise or lower to whatever height I want. I like to do my resizing while standing (more leverage) but just about everything else I do sitting. As far as your personal opinion sit at a table and see what is comfortable. Everybody likes different things and since you are probably going to build this yourself, build it how you want it.

I only use mine while seated. The top is set at 30", but I have levelers in the leg bottoms so it can be adjusted +-1".

Good Luck...

I bought a workbench at Lowes then bought a barstool which I kept cutting down until I found the height I like. Experimentation is the best way to figure out what's right for you.

The adjustable office chair seems to work well

My bench is 40" off the floor, and was setup with the stool in mind. Basically, I just picked the stool I wanted, planned on using it at full height, and made room for my legs. Worked out perfectly.
