Shotgun shooting low

I find my shotgun is shooting about 6" low at 25 feet with slugs and about 4" low with 7 1/2 shot. No wonder it took so many shots to down a sick coyote at about this distance. Used #5 high brass on coyote. 20 ga Remington model 1100, Youth Model 21" bbl.

What's the fix?

Do you have rear sights mounted on that shotgun? Otherwise just lift your head up a bit to get the POI up.

One way of doing this is to simply add a cheek-piece to the stock; that will lift your head up, raising the point of impact.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

I think I WILL go with a low wide "v" rear sight. Be better for slugs and fine also for shot shells. Take a little doing but that's O.K.

Maybe Trijicon front and back.

Or, maybe a holographic sight. Any suggestions for this type for my shotgun?

what barrel are you using? VR with choke tube? Smoothbore slug? If VR with choke tube, it could be an off center choke tube or choke threads. Many threaded barrels are off center. You can actually adjust your tubes slightly.....I'm looking for that information and will post it if I find it. Other than that.

I would put on the rear sight like you want to but also get a cheek rest for a better cheek to stock weld.

You don't aim a Shotgun , you point it with both eyes open ! Sounds like you have the wrong Tool for what you're trying to do !

I missed a coyote once, as it walked through the pattern of OO buck.

I shot a couple other coyotes with #4 bird shot.

I have a shotgun that had the front sight raised when the late Stan Baker swaged out the muzzle for threading. That lowered the point of impact.

As I get older I find hitting a mini ram at 200 yards with the 22 oddly more satisfying.
