XD45 Tactical

I just got this today. At $499 plus tax, I could not resist an accurate, reliable .45 cal handgun that takes 13+1 mags (which are only $25 each). I also like the 5" barrel because it matches the Government 1911 length and is good for .45ACP.

That's a big-ole honkin gun! Gotta love thirteen and one. There are some great trigger jobs available for XDs. i got the Canyon creek carry trigger on my XD45C. i love to hand it to other XD owners and watch them melt when they dry fire it for the first time.

Enjoy your big honker. I bought mine as an interim gun to be able to send my Sig back for service. I haven't carried the Sig since.

Hirlau, I like your......carpet. It's....bright.

Actually, Hirlau, I like your stainless XD a lot. It'll be great for wet environments. If I get another XD it will be like yours.

Has anyone done this with an XD?

I put the Hogue slip-on on the grip. I notice that I can permanently depress the grip safety if I inch it up toward the top. If I leave it this way, will it hurt the gun? I kind of like it this way, and the Hogue is very comfortable.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the grip safety ??

It's no worse than a Glock.

I maintain the gun will not fire with out pulling the trigger, grip safety or no grip safety. I haven't added any grip to my XDs but I see no reason why this would harm the gun or change functionability.
