Para Pro Custom 14+1 45ACP

I've been wanting to join an IDPA or IPSC group and figured I'd better get a good competition handgun. Well, at least that's the excuse I'm using today

Anybody have experience with the Para Pro Custom 45 14+1?

Just bought a limited 14.45, and haven't shot it yet due to health issues. Will be watching the replies!

Don't know the Pro Custom, but I shoot a ten-year old P14.45 in competition on occasion and it has never hiccupped. For self-defense carry I prefer a Colt Commander or a Para P12 or P13, but the full-size P14.45 is a perfect platform for practical shooting competition.

While I can't speak specifically about your Para, I shoot double stack 1911s in competition and they are excellent platforms. Your Para looks a lot like my STI Eagle that I shoot in ESP division in IDPA. Jump right in the water's fine and you will enjoy it.

I've got it coming from Buds. Pretty stoked.

The only 1911 I've had is a Kimber UC2 I've owned since 2007. It's been a great weapon. There were some issues with it at first but smoothed out after about 400 rounds.

I've wanted something with a larger mag capacity for a while now. Everything I have is 8 rounds or less. I shot some of the popular large caps out there; glock, springfields, and S&W and just haven't liked the feel of them as much as the 1911 platform.

Looking forward to destroying some targets with impunity! I'll post a range report once it comes in and I get to run it.
