The stuff we buy is at 3% max variance lot-to-lot, per SAAMI.

Sure, mixing two or more different *types* of powders is a cardinal transgression, but two or more lots of the SAME type of powder (from the SAME era) mixed together? In my opinion, no foul. I say go for it.

Yes, each powder lot has slightly different burn rates, but not enough to matter for hunting loads.

I know what kind of powder it is because it's kinda a gray-black color
I have two 1lbs of W231 that I'd like to put in a former 3 lls can od 2400 that I bout 3-29-01 that I took 1/2 the label off when I was checking the volume of can off 700X when I should have used 800X.....8 lbs of accurate 100 do best
