Earlier this year I puchased a "pre-ban" S&W model 571 at an auction. It is in .41 magnum with a 4" barrel and bright nickel finish. I am pretty sure it is an older model because the topstrap isn't pre-drilled for scope mounts. I have looked in the Smith catalog at the bookstore and I could not locate this particular model. The book listed all of the discontinued models and special editions, could not find it anywhere. I am wondering if it has any collector value, it is in very good shape.

Nacho, my guess is you're actually describing a version of the Smith & Wesson Model 57 with yours being the Model 57-1. The Model 57 was produced from 1963-1993 with the 57-1 variant made from 1982-1988. In excellent condition it could be worth about $350-$250. Hope this helps!
