Un-Identified Pistol Mag . . . . Need Help

I found this Pistol Mag in the woods a while back and can not find what Pistol it belongs to. There are no markings on the mag at all. I have included a few pictures in hopes that someone might be able to identify its Father.

It looks similar to the mag for my H&K USP9c, but I am going by memory.

Looks like a magazine for a Sig 9mm with a restrictor indent to limit capacity.

Looks like a early sigma 380, the 9s I remember the plastic on the bottom having more of a point.

Have you tried to load any ammo in it, i.e. 9 vs 45?

Un-identified Mag

I will try some different ammo in it. I don't have 45 though and that's what it looks like to me. It's a fat mag. And the follower for the mag is big. My first guess was HK 45 of some type but not sure.

Un-Identified Mag

So I compared it to my Glock 23 Mag and the feed lips and follower look about the same size. Almost exact in width. I was able to put 12 .40 S&W in the Mag. Any Ideas. Its funny this thing has no markings at all.

Its A Promag!

Its a Promag Magazine. I now think after finding this its an older model made for the SIG P229. .40 S&W and .357 SIG

Possibly the reason for no cal markings.

What do you guys think?

Where did you find it, ie state? Might not want to hang onto it if your state has a mag capacity restriction.

Almost no way to tell. Any number of double stack autos.

It does kind of have the promag look.

(Almost certainly not a glock mag.)

Un-Identified Mag

Chris no disrespect but I Live in Montana and even if it was not legal here, which God help us if it wasn't, I would not be getting rid of it. They (who ever that may be) can pry this inert piece of formed steel from my cold dead hand.

There are no markings what so ever on this Mag. I cleaned it out and stacked 12 .40 S&W in but it messes up to follower it seems. The follower tilts to one side when it goes to doubble stack.

I am now leaning toward it possibly being a 45 mag of some type. Any way to tell for sure? The lips are about the same size as my Glock .40 lips and the .40 S&W fit nice in there.

It really, from the pictures on the web, looks like the Promag Sig 229 12 round but the two round dimples make it look like the Promag Sig 229 10 round. Also The Mag release catch cut out is only on one side (the Right side) Not both sides as in there pictures on the web.

Thats It

I just looked at the PARA Ordenance P12 Mag and that is the one. Its a .45 ten rounder. It has all the right holes and cuts in all the right places.

Do I win a cookie or anything for the correct answer?

Now you need to go and buy a P12 to go with your mag, if you can find one that is.
