Brown Bess flintlock musket (1700s era)
Well I've sold my flintlock, but have a friend who still has one.
I used to do revolutionary war re-enactments. Well, these are all replicas, capable of live fire. We were having some fun with the musket one day and the spring for the flintlock broke. I'm having a hard time 1) knowing exactly which model we have and 2) where to find parts for them. It's a fun gun to shoot. Not accurate for crap after 30 yards being a smooth bore rifle. I believe its either a 65 or 75 caliber rifle. Anybody know of a place that sells a selection of parts for flintlock guns? Thanks, Jonathan P.S. I'll try and get a picture of the gun ASAP.

Here's a pic of the gun...
I don't think it was a 1720s era gun though. I think its a 1740 or 1750s if that makes a difference... They were brass though. Here's some pics from '02 and '03 Saratoga: King's Mountain Guilford County Courthouse Battle

Let's narrow it down to which spring first. Mainspring, sear spring or frizzen spring? Any markings on the barrel to help us with the make? Perhaps beneath the lockplate?

Dixie Gun Works probably has whatever you need but will be high. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/default...561bf6679ea9d6
Track of the Wolf doesn't list springs online but they may sell them. Might give them a call. They'll be cheaper than DGW. http://www.trackofthewolf.com/(S(5jh...g))/index.aspx |
