Like to know what type are desirable and where to get them. Price is a consideration. The shoes or boots would have to be comfortable for day long wear involving constant moving around, hopefully have good ankle support and provide protection around toe hungry 50lb boxes. I know some such footware sport synthetic as opposed to metal inserts. Jeff |

Hi Jeff,
There was a thread not too long ago discussing the term tactical. Look it up and you will probably get a laugh . I don't know if I am missing something, do you mean sturdy hiking boots for general purpose use? regards, olazul |

Jffal: Erick's recommendation on the Adidas GSG9 model is a good one, if you want to spend big bucks. They're an issue item for certain SOF units here and abroad. OTOH, GI jungle boots (new black ones w/padded nylon upper) fitted with a GOOD quality sole insert are very servicable and extremely affordable. I've jumped and rucked with them and they do just fine.
Good luck on your choice... Mike |

You want the best? You'll have to pay for it, but you can find it at www.danner.com .
Trust me, they're worth it. |
