Conical through moderatley pitted barrel

If a barrel is moderately pitted and accuracy is affected on a ball would conicals improve the situation?

This would be for an older CVA Hawken.

you can get a barrel from deer creek for around $85 for the hawken.

Have to try it and see. Might do best with a minie or a Lee REAL. Some of those older CVA's are 1:66 twist tho. They won't shoot conicals well no matter what.
