Has anyone tried any of the Ramshot Powders?
I'm looking to load 9mm, 9x23win, 40S&W, & .45acp. TKS, Ellis |

Sorry Ellis but I have never heard of ramshot powders. Is it a new powder just out on the market or has it been around and I just haven't ever noticed it? I guess I haven't been paying attention to the new stuff. Most of the pistol powders I use is Bullseye, unique and Blue Dot. Of course I am always open for suggestions on new powders.

Ramshot has in some ways the best web site of any powder company.
It is so new, that the only places that sell it are an hour away When I see the stuff sold, I will buy some. |

I was thinking about stocking it in my shop, but was wanting to hear the voice of experince. I think it will be a couple bucks per pound more than the others. Looks good on paper!!!

I've been using Ramshot True Blue in my 45 Colt Blackhawk for several months now, and have been truly impressed! I didn't believe my first chrono readings for standard deviation, and extreme spread, until a second outing gave me the same single digit data!
Load = 9gr True Blue, 250gr LRNFP Oregon Trail bullets, Starline cases, Winchester WLP primers. Average Vel = 869.5 fps Extreme spread = 7.8 fps Standard deviation = 2.8 fps My best five shot group at 30 feet indoors, was a single four corner hole, less than 3/8ths inch center to center. That still stands as the best single group I've ever fired at that range, with any handgun! My 357 loads were not noticeably more accurate than my current best with other powders, but equaled my best group first time out! Needles to say, I'm going to try some of their other powders at the first opportunity! Bill |
