45 colt primers?
Could only get CCI, 350, magnum primers. How much should I reduce the powder in medium 45 colt loads to account for the magnum primers? Mine is Lipseys 45lc/acp so is medium frame and don't plan to load heavy loads anyway. Am using 255 SWC and Unique powder. thx triker

I would go back to the recommended minimum charge and work up from there.
CCI 350's are very hot. Recently there was a test in Handloader magazine where the CCI 350 raised pressure in the 45 Colt over 13,000 psi compared to a Win LP primer. |

Unique is not primer sensitive. Either WLP, CCI-300, CCI-350 will work just fine.
Test results: 8.5g Unique, 255g SWC, CCI-300, 977fps, 17 SD, 56 ES, 15 shots 8.5g Unique, 255g SWC, CCI-350, 985fps, 21 SD, 82 ES, 15 shots I did these tests on a few powders because I ran into the same problem you did the last time around we have primer supply problems .
