22lr conversions for AR-15

Does anyone have any long-term experience with these conversions? They say they work fine, but I am wondering if they will eventually obstruct the gas port in the barrel with lead, and cause problems. Or problems with the direct impingement gas system itself? Any special cleaning procedures?

shrugs...

all of the manufactures say, if its just a swappable bolt conversion, that all you have to do to clean the gas system is to shoot a mag full of .223/5.56 through your piece and clean as regular.

on the proprietary 22 uppers, i would shoot it till the gas system doesn't work then just, remove the front sight, clean the gas holes, and replace the gas tube. with regular cleanings of the rifle of course. i haven't personally run into any problems yet, and i have both types of system
