ROA vs ASM (colt) nipples

They seem to be fully interchangeable, except the ASM are slightly shorter (threaded portion) than the ROA. Haven't shot my ROA yet, as I only have .451 ball, but I was short a nipple on my ASM and subbed it with a ROA and it worked fine (after filing the nipple down some to accept #11 caps, as they are rather beat up)
Unfortunately, that means I now have one functional ROA nipple as they've been dry fired to death Not sure if I want ROA or ASM nipples, but would be nice to have only one nipple wrench to deal with
Anyone have experience with this?

As you need to replace nipples I think in the long run your better off buying Treso/Ampco nipples. They are the best you can buy and have a much longer life and a better cap fit.
