H-110 & 255 Gr. Keith Bullets

Does anyone here use H-110 powder with a 255 grain Keith style bullet and how many grains do you use of H-110 with this bullet??

I like H-110 powder but I'm afraid if my load is too hot it will cause leading to occur but don't know this to be true.

I'm assuming you have a 44 mag???????? if so 24 grs of H110 or WW296 will do the trick..........also would help to know what gun you will shoot it out of...........

PA,

I use 24gr of H110 behind 250gr Oregon Trail RNFP bullets, in my 45 Colt Blackhawk. It's a stout load (1350 fps), but not unmanageable by any means.

No signs of leading to date, though I did have leading with this revolver using bullets from a local caster.

Be absolutely sure to use a magnum primer, as H110 is hard to ignite.

ASSUME 45 LC?

Might start a wee bit lower and work up SLOW.

Federal; or Starline cases, Redding Profile Crimp die, magnum primers, chrono.............and Dry Creek Keith-style bullets.

Check out 44/45 advice at www.sixgunner.com

Safey first; don't worry about leading.

I have used around 33gr H110 behind a 255gr kieth gas-checked bullet. This was in a 454 casull, and it was definitely moving too fast for a 45LC.

If you are worried, stick with 2400. It is much more forgiving, and cheaper too.
