Heller Mauser Rifle

I looked at a .30-06 on a Mauser action. Said "Heller" with a Long Island, NY address. It had British proofs on the barrel near the receiver.
It was nice but I think a little out of my price range at $400 even though it was very well put together
Anyone ever heard of this company?. I think it may be a reworked K98.

Probably either an importer or the gunsmith who did the conversion work. A search turned up a number of hits, but all seem irrelevant.

German military rifles were marked with the model on the left side, stamped so deeply that it cannot be removed. K.98k's were marked "Mod. 98".
