There were occasional quality control problems with the Baikals under EAA, I think Remington's a little more demanding now with them.
I've heard of several locking lug failures & a couple barrel separations with Stoegers. For personal experience here, my wife's 20-gauge Stoeger coachgun has held up fine with relatively low-powered target loads, after the "Stoeger Lock-up Feature" was removed. Stoegers had a relatively frequent problem with refusing to unlock to open a while back, don't know if it's still an issue. The Baikal I gave her for Christmas two years ago had headspacing problems that EAA denied & wouldn't repair, still sitting at our gunsmith's in a back room somewhere. The EAA Baikal coachgun I've had for about four years runs fine, the Remington Baikal I acquired this summer is fine. Remington's service should be markedly better than EAA's. Denis |

Usually on the heavy side, can't give you a poundage.
