Get some of the older IMR/DuPont booklets and they will have data for buckshot. FOLLOW THE BOOK! Load as directed.

Blue Dot will work fine for 12 Pellet loads of 00 Buck. It's a little slow for lighter loads.
A 12 Pellet load I've been using for years: Winchester AA Hull. Winchester 209 Primer. 31.0 Grains of Blue Dot Winchester WAA12R Wad, petals removed. (The WAA12R wad is discontinued, Claybuster makes a good clone). Twelve pellets 00 Buck, layered in 3s. A very tight-patterning load: Winchester AA Hull. Winchester 209 Primer. 26.5 Grains of Herco. Remington RP12 Wad. 1/16" cork filler wad, cut to fit in the RP12. Eight pellets of 00 Buck, stacked in 2s. DC |

Hey 45 Colt; I'm still seeing new WAA12R red wads for sale at Gander and my local firearms emporium. Are you sure they are discontinued? I just loaded 250 warp drive 1 1/4 oz. field loads with them. I haven't tried the CB replacements yet as I still have a couple bags of the WWs but any other CB wads I've tried worked just as well as the name brand stuff. CB.

Yeah, they dropped them the same time as the WAA12F114. My local still has both in stock too. Claybuster has clones of both, they should be fine.
Just a note for 16 Gauge reloaders: Claybuster has a clone of the WAA16 wad now. It wasn't on their website last I looked, but I have some and they are good wads. DC |
