And given this development I'll likely shoot the SP101 again for that reason. No night sights on the SR9c yet.

Glenn E Meyer,
Thanks for the support, my hope is many clubs pick up PCCA over the next year or so. |

What a great idea!
I'll be trying to attend your next match with my first J-frame, 640-1. I like the realistic concept! Sounds like fun too! Regards, 18DAI

franks,
It's a very realistic competition in that what most people carry these days are the little pocket guns or very compact belt guns.

franks,
Would love to have a club in DFW area become part of the PCCA family, ask your local range, this is the best way to get things started, most of the time only when people ask clubs to hold an event do they look into it. Regards, Dean |

Looking forward to tomorrow's match. Gonna play with the bottom feeder this time. I'm thinking rain jacket for a cover garment .

Pocket Carry Competition Association
I missed this discussion the first time around.
I shot an IDPA classifier match last Saturday night. One of the SOs had a copy of the rule book for the Pocket Carry Competition Association and was showing it around. http://pocketcarrycomp.com/default.aspx Looks like PCCA has taken the (somewhat dormant) concept of competition with back-up guns that IDPA began and formalized it and developed it to the next logical step. Rumor is one of the Milwaukee area gun shops with an indoor range may become a PCCA affiliate. That would be interesting. The targets seemed interesting too . . . Now that CCW has become legal for private citizens in Wisconsin (finally) I think there would be some interest in a competition with simple quick stages of fire suited for small concealment pistols & revolvers.

You are on the right track. I am the President of the Big Piney Sportsman's Club near Houston Missouri. We shoot an Outlaw IDPA Match every other month. We have a BUG Division, and BUG shoots the same course of fire as everyone else. We set our match up Revolver Neutral from the start. Each scenario is either 6 shots, and repeat the stage a second time, or fire 6 and a reload of another 6 on the clock. BUG Division does the same, only 5 and 5. No penalty for not firing the 6th shot. We also allow 22 RF in BUG Division, just like PCCA. I looked over your Rule Book. Everything looked fine to me. Looked like a good plan to let Snub K & L Frames shoot in a Division, along with 3" GP100's, and snub Security Sixes, etc. I presume by the target scoring, etc from your Rule Book that you are pretty much using the IDPA Scoring System. Probably a very good plan, as it is easy to use. I have sent you an e-mail on your web site contact link. Bob |
