Need a small range bag

All the bags I've come across are total PsOS(thin outer material, cheap/small zippers, flimsy). Am considering a heavy duty big mouth tool bag w/ inner pockets(Craftsman or other make) as a result. What do you guys use?

husky brand wide mouth type tool bag from home depot. heavy duty canvas material, works well.

Hi forte. Did you check out the Bagmaster? Technically, it is medium, but based on what I saw on this, I would buy one of their smaller ones.

I've had my Armadillo for ever. Sturdy as they come. Not fancy with all those different magazine compartments. Just guns and all the ammo you can lift.

THAT is the deal of the month. I know two shooters how have this bag and both love it. If mine died tomorrow I'd order the Midway bag in a heartbeat.

Good post! I'm still looking. Has to be waterproof, preferably floats with lots of interior compartments and/or elastic retainers. Small, about 18" long.

Actually, the one I use most isn't even gun gear. It came as a carrying bag for my Black & Decker pole chain saw. Nothing fancy, but it works, and it's plenty big enough for a cleaning kit, tools, ammo, a couple of hearing protectors, a couple of safety glasses, and a couple of handguns in their own boxes. It probably measures about 12" in diameter by 3' long. And, the price was right!

This is the one I use, it has plenty of space, a hidden pocket for your pistol (if you want to use it.. i know i do) and thick walls, a comfortable strap, felt lined, really nice all around. Good luck in your search.

I have been dragging around a "Bagman - Leather Mini Range Bag Deluxe" in cold, wet, Washington for about 5 years now. Plenty of abuse, including stuffing it to the gills, leaving it out in the elements, etc. No problems (ymmv).

I use a small soft sided suit case with wheels and slide out handle payed 5 bucks for it at a swap meet. Holds hand guns, ammo, cleaning stuff, a few tools, spotting scope, and sand bags. It rolls or you can carry it. I even sewed alice straps on it so you can were it like a back back.

I use a large composite-material tool box that was sold by Sears. It has one tray and is reasonably watertight.

These are probably more expensive than tool bags but I have 3 bags. 1 is a Sig bag, 1 is a Beretta bag and one is a Glock bag. I keep each loaded with the mags and accessories for each of those 3 guns. I can grab the gun from my safe, grab the right bag and the ammo can for that gun. I like my system.

I just bought the Midway range bag on sale. Its awsome! But this is all new to me, so I'm looking for some help. What do you pack in the bag for tools? I've heard of something called a multitool. My guns are S&W 642, 442, 34 and 22A which is my only semi-auto. Any help would be appreciated. Cheryl
