Need a small range bag
All the bags I've come across are total PsOS(thin outer material, cheap/small zippers, flimsy). Am considering a heavy duty big mouth tool bag w/ inner pockets(Craftsman or other make) as a result. What do you guys use?

Check out Midwayusa.com's Own Line of Range Bags. They're pretty popular and inexpensive.

Hi forte. Did you check out the Bagmaster? Technically, it is medium, but based on what I saw on this, I would buy one of their smaller ones.
I just did a review on a high quality medium one: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...d.php?t=321368 www.bagmaster.com

Suggestions?
If you're interested in a Bagmaster bag, check out my website. www.straightShotShooting.com. I offer Bagmaster range bags at a discount. The Pro-Shooter's Bag Small, Pro-Shooter's Bag Medium, or the Padded Pro-Shooter's Bag Medium/Small are all nice small bags. In addition, I the Pro-Shooter's Tournament Model 2 is another option that's fairly popular. Good luck!

I like Bagmaster bags. They come in several styles and sizes. Got both of mine from straightshot. Good service, good products, straight dealing.

I've had my Armadillo for ever. Sturdy as they come. Not fancy with all those different magazine compartments. Just guns and all the ammo you can lift.

Good post! I'm still looking. Has to be waterproof, preferably floats with lots of interior compartments and/or elastic retainers. Small, about 18" long.

New idea! Let's invent some and submit the finished results to the manufacturer's. Look for new topic.

This is the one I use, it has plenty of space, a hidden pocket for your pistol (if you want to use it.. i know i do) and thick walls, a comfortable strap, felt lined, really nice all around. Good luck in your search. Casey |

Bagman works for me
I have been dragging around a "Bagman - Leather Mini Range Bag Deluxe" in cold, wet, Washington for about 5 years now. Plenty of abuse, including stuffing it to the gills, leaving it out in the elements, etc. No problems (ymmv).

I use a small soft sided suit case with wheels and slide out handle payed 5 bucks for it at a swap meet. Holds hand guns, ammo, cleaning stuff, a few tools, spotting scope, and sand bags. It rolls or you can carry it. I even sewed alice straps on it so you can were it like a back back.

I use a large composite-material tool box that was sold by Sears. It has one tray and is reasonably watertight.

range bags
These are probably more expensive than tool bags but I have 3 bags. 1 is a Sig bag, 1 is a Beretta bag and one is a Glock bag. I keep each loaded with the mags and accessories for each of those 3 guns. I can grab the gun from my safe, grab the right bag and the ammo can for that gun. I like my system.

I just bought the Midway range bag on sale. Its awsome! But this is all new to me, so I'm looking for some help. What do you pack in the bag for tools? I've heard of something called a multitool. My guns are S&W 642, 442, 34 and 22A which is my only semi-auto. Any help would be appreciated. Cheryl
