Mini 14 magazines

Has anyone tried a magazine that works reliably with the mini 14 other than Ruger factory mags?

Precision mags AKA, P.M.I. have worked flawlessly in mine.

Stay away from USA they are garbage.

+1 on PMI mags. They are as good as Ruger factory mags.

Actually, I have 5 PMI 20s, 4 PMI 30s, and 4 Ruger 20s, plus a few no-names. I haven't used the Ruger 20s yet, but with the PMIs my rifle is as close to 100% reliable as a man-made machine can be. No malfs in ~400 - 500 rounds, largely Wolf.

According to the Mini-14 geeks on Perfectunion BBS, the new production ProMags are very good as well.

Hey SFMedic,
I have two mags a Ram-line 30 round plastic and a 20 round blued steel from Cabelas. They both worked ok, but the Ram-line won't lock the slide back after the last round, the Cabelas mag gave me no problems at all. I sold my Mini-14 awhile back. If you're interested I'll let you have both mags to try for yourself. Give me $5.00 for shipping and they're yours.

Thermolds are good mags, mine have worked flawlessly.

The one ram-line mag I tried turned out to be fragile, and cracked after only a little rough handling.
