Thats a question that has a Billion Answers from a Billion People.

I keep the .38 in the night stand loaded with 158gr Lead Semi-Wad cutters. I'm Old School and Like the LSWC's BUT I have no issue with modern Hollow points.

Take your pick, just make sure you prectice a lil with what ever you use so you can Place them where you want to. THAT in my opinion is what matters the most.

I use the 138 grain Speer Gold Dot in my .38 special. I did some testing by firing into good size stack of wet newspaper. The penetration was excellent and so was expansion.

Rambo is retired..........The name of the game is loss of blood or hit the vitals............Hollow points expand to increase wound cavity which promotes more bleeding. They also expand to increase the chances of hitting a vital organ , which works also..............So in my opinion hollow points help.........But also a good ole fashion LSWC between the eyes works also.......It would have worked on Rambo too............
