plastic tips in HPs

does anyone insert plastic expansion tips into there plated or cast hps? do they sell these commercially? is there other media that works as well? has anyone tested the benefit of doing so?
seems to me that it could have some possible benefits to inducing expansion after penetration even on cast bullets, and could be a fun project

I agree with your thinking for rifle rounds, but question how well they would feed in semi-autos. I suspect they would also be OK with revolvers, but have the same question with pistols.

I will follow the thread and hopefully learn from the more experienced on this subject.

i wouldnt think wax or hot glue would have the same effect as a hard plastic like on nosler or hornaday, i would think it would need to be hard enough to deform the lead somewhat after penetration

came across these though, like airsoft pellets for hollowpoints
