870 foregrip issues

I replaced the synthetic furniture on my newer 870 to wood, came off a fellow TFL'er's 870. Easy, unscrew, screw, done. Well now im having "sticky extraction" issues. Is it possible to over tighten the nut or under tighten it? Its snug and tight with no play against the wood. Fire a shot, takes more pressure to extract, sometimes quite a bit more than others. Im confused as to what I did wrong.

It could be slightly rotated on the tube.
This is easy to do when assembling the new fore end.
This can cause drag as the hidden part of the fore end rubs the barrel.

Loosen the nut and make sure the fore end is lined up correctly.

Check the action bars to insure you didn't accidentally bend them during the change out.

Just to be sure, you didn't happen to be using different shells, did you? My first thought when I heard "extraction issues" was that maybe you were using inexpensive winchester shells, which have caused problems for me and other people before.

More than likely, the wood forend isn't sitting level on the forend tube. To compound that, most people twist the forend when they cycle a pump gun (whether they realize it or not) and your new wood furniture will provide higher friction rubbing against the barrel than the synthetic forend that I'm assuming you replaced.

Alignment looks good, and I forgot to mention that running snap caps through it, zero hang up. That means its Winchester related?

Very likely, if you're using the cheapo Winchester bulk (red hull, silver base) stuff.
