My CX4 cracked.

I have bad luck with firearms. Somehow my 2 month old CX4 9mm developed a crack in the trigger group chassis.

I noticed a similar fingernail shaped 'hole' on the opposite side. I wonder if its a defect that spread into a crack?

If it's still under warranty, send it back to the factory. Check if there's a recall on it as I doubt if a crack that big is unique to just one item in that model.

You should always clearly mark the area you are referring to. If you are talking about vertical black marks ,from the phots it looks like voids .Yes they likely turn into cracks . That's a production defect .Should be returned. Is the gun made of injection molded aluminum ?

I'm contacting the MO customer service center tomorrow morning. I'm just very surprised by this, being a Beretta.

The chassis is plastic, and rather flimsy compared to the carbon reinforced polymer the rest of the gun is made with.

In looking at the picture, it appears that the crack originates at where the pivot pin is inserted. I wonder if the pin was at a slight angle and when driven in, deposited the energy to the side of that housing; causing it to crack.

The repair center sent me a UPS return label, so I'll report back what the new fix looks like.
