RIA 2011 hicap Unicorn's do exist

After scouring the internet, trolling most forums and frequenting gunbroker every day, I finally found one. I am now the owner of a RIA 2011 9mm Hicap. I can't say when RIA will release them in mass quantities cause they were featured way back when for 2012 shot show and I have known of 4-5 that were sold on the internet back in October. Seems to be built solid with very good slide to frame fit. Has a ramped frame and beveled barrel so FTF are a non issue. Here's a pic

RIA's come a long way quality wise. The lines on that gun are a lot straighter/smoother than those on my older RIA .38super. Definitly neat, how much did it cost?

So far so good. I can slightly wiggle the slide side to side but it's less than a millimeter of travel. Not like my Dan Wesson Guardian that is extremely tight but I wasn't expecting Semi custom production fitting.

Well.... Gallery of Guns and many others retail them for $850 and all say "On order" or "Awaiting inventory" and that's been the case for the last year and a half. I paid a bit more than that for the fact that they are extremely hard to find. I wont say how much but close to Para prices. I may have paid a bit much but my next choices with the same look and features were double the price. STI tactical, Perfect 10, SVI build and full custom would have ran me $2000+. As far as I know, this is the only 9mm version that has been released.

Haven't shot it yet but when/ If I do (If I can find 9mm ammo) I plan on doing a range report on it. For now, I'll see If I can post more pics tonight.

Very cool. I have been wondering when an inexpensive race gun would come round. Hope they add to regular production!

I love my 9mm Tac. I will certainly snag one of these if I can find one...
