Ruger Vauqero Bisley

I just picked up a Ruger Bisley Vauqero .44 Mag that was mfg in 1997 Its in excellent conditon mechanically and appearance. The price was right. Are there any defects or other little quirks in these model Ruger Bisleys? I plan to use 44 SPCls in it.

I am trying to round up some stuff for CAS. I have purchased a H&R Model 1871 Buffalo Hunter Classic in .45-70. I guess the shotgun and lever action are next.

The bisquero is a wonderfull gun, no quirks at all. The H&R you mentioned isnt allowed for sas with the stock sights so you'll need to change them for use in long range events, good luck.

I just picked up a NIB Bisquero at a Gander Mountain sale. This is my first cowboy gun, and it's a handful in .44 magnum. Where's the best place to find .44 special ammo? Also, the sights seem to be way off. Seems to shoot low and left at just 15'.

And ya know what? They feel incredibly awesome too. You'd think the smooth design would create a slippage problem, but they don't. It's weird, but I swear they grip better than the original grips. I've sat there looking at them trying to figure out why I so decidedly feel that way about 'em, and the only thing I can come up with is that Cocobolo just must have some great ability to hold tight in a flesh hand - maybe the wood pores or something like that? I dunno', but I swear there is such a great difference that I realized within minutes of putting 'em on.

ummmm I sold My Ruger Bisley

but now I own two Ruger New Vaqueros in Polished SS with Bocote wood grips.
