Two more pistol cases
Just built two more cases for the upstairs hall.
The size and design of the cases are the same. Layout of the pistols is different. I used an old nautical chart as a background for these two cases because the rest of the stuff in the hall has a nautical flavor. And I thought it might set off the Navy caliber. The case on the left has six pistols all of which have standard size barrels. The case on the right contains seven pistol which are best described as "sheriff's" models with the exception of the 1863 Remington at the bottom.

Thanks all
kmaysob,
It is a good point you make. I have a watch-cat which looks out for intruders.

We had a neighbor directly behind us, that displayed his out in the open, in a similar manner.
At the same time I had three BPs hanging on the wall, too. After he got burgled and all his guns taken, I quit showing mine. It's a shame we have to curb our activities due to the scum bags, but it's just the way it is. At least until we quit tolerating them.

Very nice, Doc! I like the maps & charts idea. I have a "gun closet" in my den - think I'll try to employ your concept on the back wall of the closet. That way when it's open, in Man Cave style, I can enjoy it...and when I lock it up, it's all safe and sound.
Again, very nice touch. Thanks for sharing that. |

Guys
Thanks for the compliments.
I have two of those charts left. One is of the western Keys not including Key West and the other is the Dry Tortugas. Anybody wants em can have em.

Beautiful job Doc! That's sure a nice way to display 'em and be able to enjoy 'em. Thanks for showing us your handiwork!

Maybe a conversion of an old pub-style dartboard cabinet would be more secure for those in less Mayberryesque places.

Pretty dang spiffy Doc. I too have watchcats, but the only thing they watch is the inside of their eyelids, so I lock mine up. Sure wish I could show 'em off.

Bengal Tigers...Heck
The cat has all of his claws and when he gets going it is like wrestling with a revved up chain saw.
I'll post some photos as soon as I can figure out where he is standing his watch.
