What Components did you Find Today? Give up your source if you are stocked up.

I went out today to get a few components in the Northern Cincinnati area. I expected to be come back empty handed but had to get out for a drive.

I managed to purchase 1 of several bricks of primers behind the counter at Target World. I got 1k CCI LR Primers @ $32+Tx which was amazing given the $47 price they had on several boxes of Vance lead pistol bullets I recently paid in the neighborhood of $$35 for. I passed on those and the average of $24 lb for powder they had in limited supply. (I hate going into this place, I get a sharp acidic taste in my mouth, but at least they had some supplies.)

I then went up to South Lebanon to the Country Attic and found the powders I have been wanting. HP38 and Universal at $20 a pound. They had little to no bullets for pistol or rifle, but a good supply of BR-4 and LPM primers.

Had a good trip overall and plan to start my first work on a new project in 30-30 WCF loading tomorrow.

Hope this helps.

I picked up some large pistol primers at the local Cabela's (Glendale, AZ) a week ago Saturday. They had about 60 bricks on the shelf....a day later, when I went back to pick up a order that I had shipped to the store, I checked the shelf and there were still a half dozen bricks. I was amazed they had lasted 24 hours over the weekend. They have sporadically had powder on the shelf, typically brands I don't use or am not even familiar with.

Received a thousand pieces of .380 brass from my postman yesterday ("Today" per title of yesterday's post). I was criticized by another forum member a month ago for posting about getting ammo stuff on a different day than his "Today" titled post.

It was more than funny since that post stayed active for a month.

Sorry, I am not stocked up and don't want to reveal my source.

We've been doing ok on powder at the local Basspro. Its not a solid supply but a good varity has been trickling in if you're able to get in there when the doors open. Here's a hint, if there's more than 10 people standing at the door waiting for it to open, somebody knows something showed up lol. In the past two months I've seen magnum pistol primers on the shelf twice and in very limited quantity. Nothing else as far as primers go. Still making my rounds to the local shops when I can to try and scrounge some supplies up.

J357: If you were in my area, I could recommend several locations that are well-stocked.

I found 55 pieces of .357 Mag brass. My source was a guy at the range that gave me his brass after he shot it . I let him shoot a couple of my guns as well.

This past Thursday I received (1000) .357 Magnum cases from Starline. About ten days prior they shipped the (500) .38 Special +P's I ordered for making Speer shotshell snake shredders.

Swampman: I didn't buy any as I have a decent supply. HazMat from Recobs is usually $27.50 by UPS but since I live within the delivery area of Spee-Dee delivery out of Wisconsin I usually end up paying $14 to ship powder or primers.

I went to shooters service looking for some H110 but any other magnum handgun powder like 2400, imr4227 or w296 would of been fine. I was expecting to leave dissapointed, but I left with what might be the last # of H110 for sale in the entire state. I feel like I won the lottery.

I also bought two packs of CCI small rifle primers from van born gunshop last week. They've somehow managed to have primers in stock throughout the current panick event which is amazing.

Both places are in southeast mi and they still have supplies but it's best to call first.

I found some small rifle primers in stock at Midway today - bought 2000 or 2 box's of them. They are Winchesters . That should keep my Contender .357 Mag. loaded up for Sunday afternoons for at least a year of plinking. I prefer CCI or Federal but, you can't be too picky these days... Dang hoarders! Now I am having fun bringing out the pair of 1858 Remington New Army's these days - everyone is impressed with them.

My current favorite plinking Recipe is a 38 spl. cartridge with 4.3 grains of Unique powder and a 125 grain SWC lead bullet. Very nice "flat shooting" and cheap to practice with. Not as cheap as a Federal 550 or a 525 .22 cal box - but still, very affordable.

I only have one rule... "Most of all - Have fun!"

What Components did you Find Today? Give up your source if you are stocked up.

Just received an order of H110 and Universal from Powder Valley that I ordered 2-3 months ago. They seem to be getting small number of powders in that are sold out within a few hours. It has been so long since I ordered this that it was a pleasant surprise to find it on my doorstep.
