New 1911 Combat Commander Stocks
Trying out the Pachmayr American Legends with the finger grooves.
They feel great, but won't know the facts until I go to the range Saturday. How they shoot is more important to me than how they look, that's for sure.

I think the finger grooves might not work for me but how they work for you is the main thing.

they feel good for range shooting because the rubber softens recoil, but that is about the only thing ive found them useful for.
I really dont think they make the gun look very good at all, but that is a purely aesthetic standpoint. As far as functional goes, the reason i dont like them is because it isnt as easy to get a quick assured grip because of the large finger grooves consistently. So if you ever did need your handgun quickly, that half a second to get a better grip when presenting might prove to be too long. |

I think there are enough manufacturers for 1911 stocks that form and function can be had.

20 min. of dry fire last night, and they seemed to be an improvement.
To the range tomorrow for the real test.

Any quality stock would be an improvement IMHO!

Put 150 rnds downrange this morning with these big, honkin' Hogue wraparounds.
I like'em...consistently. Those Pachmayrs were a little too bling, if ya know what I mean.

Wow, fantastic looking, I had to look twice to make sure it was the same gun. I have my original (beautifull wood grips in the safe) they will go back on when my kimber goes from a shooting iron to a safe queen.
Nice job doc. Jim |

Keep your krazy glue ready for some reason the metal disk that are inset come out, on the rubber and wood one's not on the rubber one's.
