Lead Shot

Is this a dumb question, Can lead shot (lets say #6 shot) be made out old wheel weights or scrap lead, is there a cast for something like this. Was just pondering some thoughts and thought I would see if anyone has ever heard of this or tried it.

I made about 500 lbs. from wheelweights and pure lead/lino at 50/50. the magnum stuff will break your teeth; it's far harder than my standby Lawrence.
