I can't pick a favorite gun or favorite semi-auto the same way I can't pick a favorite movie or a favorite dog or a favorite child of mine.

But for the purpose of this thread, I've been having nothing but a blast with each and every range trip with my Coonan Classic. I've got about 1,500 rounds through it now. Bought it very lightly used, and though the previous owner put only factory ammo through it, I haven't put any factory ammo through it.

My Ruger P-90 .45 ACP. Reason being, it shoots better than I can, and it never, ever fails me. It's what I use for off-duty carry, and it beats the Sig P220 I'm issued by a country mile.

Favorite: 1911 9mm.
I like my Kimber Target Custom II more than my STI Trojan because it fits my hand better. Nothing against STI -- It has slightly better fit than Kimber and has a slightly smoother shooting feel.

I'm torn...

9mm - German assembled P228R (matching serial # on all parts)
.45 ACP - Glock 30

I alternate between the two fairly often...I'd have to say the Sig is my favorite, but its become sort of a safe queen while my Glock is a more regular carry.

Smith & Wesson 4506. My father carried it while he was in law enforcement and passed it to me before he passed away. Big, durable, accurate, completely reliable, all steel, good S/A trigger, decent D/A trigger, good sites, good workmanship, built like a tank and easily doubles as a club if you run out of ammo. Whats not to like.

I own a fair number of handguns but - this is easy - my favorites are my carry guns that I shoot every week and alternate for carry - both Colt Series 70 Government Model 45 ACP pistols. Different generations, though - top one an original made in 1970 and bottom one a "repreo" made since 2002 - low serial number suggests not later than 2003.

I recently had my gunsmith replace old sights with MGW sights - that gunsmith test fires his gun modifications and he commented they were "sweet shooters" - which, if anything, understates the case - IMO

Now they're even "sweeter".

Mine is my Coonan Classic. I love the gun. I cant say what it is about it but the gun is just magic in my hands. It has a recoil that is just right and it feels like an extension of my arm.

Not the most modern design I have, but one of the most accurate. Not what I carry daily, and trust my life to. But because of it's history this high Standard HD Military is my favorite. Given to me over 50 years ago by my Grandfather. Back in the days of freedom in this country it wasn't looked down on to give your 14 year old grandson his very own "target" pistol.

Caracal C. I love this gun. I enjoy it every time I shoot it. And it was cheap enough that I don't baby it. Can't say that for my 1911s (RIA, STI), Sigs (226, 1911), S&W (models 10, 64, M&P) or any other pistol I own. I know a lot of people aren't going to give them a chance, but I haven't had an off day with it yet.

I can't really decide,,,
Favorite is such a subjective word.

It's a toss up between my CZ-75B Pair in .22 LR/9mm,,,
And my Beretta Cheetah Pair in .22 LR/.380 ACP.

The CZ-75B is the pistol I chose after about 8 months of shooting every "Wonder-9" known to man,,,
It was the only double-stack 9mm I could comfortably wrap my K-frame hands around,,,
It certainly didn't hurt that the pistol itself is of superb quality.

I was on the verge of buying a Sig P226 when a gentleman at my rifle & pistol club,,,
Kindly allowed me to shoot two 16-round mags through his CZ-75B,,,
After that I was completely hooked on that Czech Lady,,,
I ordered the 9mm and .22 pistols the next day.

Many years ago I had a girlfriend who owned a Beretta Cheetah Model 87,,,
It was the sweetest .22 semi-auto pistol I had ever fired in my life,,,
The gun fit my mitt as if Mr. Beretta made a mold of my hand,,,
It was just so darn sexy it brought out my inner James Bond.

I purchased the .22 version strictly as a high end range toy,,,
Then I stumbled on a real deal for a used Model 85,,,
I purchased it as a companion piece to the .22,,,
The .22 version gets a lot of range time.

My opinion might change tomorrow,,,
But today I believe my favorite is the Cheetah pair,,,
The CZ-75B is an incredibly reliable and accurate duty pistol,,,
But the Cheetah(s) are such a joy to shoot that they make me smile a lot.

This week my favorite(s) are,,,
Alessia, my Model 85 in .380 ACP,,,
Along with Allegra, The Model 87 in .22 LR.

Glock 22. I shoot that one the most accurate, its fairly cheap to shoot and it was my first handgun.

Lately, it would by my Glock G20 with a 40 cal conversion barrel. Can go from mild to wild with a barrel swap and 100% (so far) reliability.

My Springfield longslide setup for supers and rowland level loads. Throated Storm Lake 6 3/4" threaded barrel with gans guns comp. Accurate easy to shoot and has a cool factor. I use it boar and deer hunting with great results. 44mag power in a 1911... I love longslides!

As for my favorite...at the moment, my CZ 22LR Kadet. That thing is just a blast to shoot.

I would rather take a round of 50BMG to the foot than a 22short to the base of the skull. all 26 of my guns are 45/70 govt, 357 mag, 22 or 12 ga... I believe in keeping it simple. Wish my wife did as well...
