The dumbest?

I know we hate to admit it, but, what's the dumbest thing you almost did with a gun?

When I first moved to Texas, I was house-sitting at a place out in the country. One day I spotted a scorpion on the wall (my first!), and in a total panic I grabbed the landlord's shotgun. Luckily I thought twice about that. Ended up hitting it with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.

Nobody will admit to doing anything dumb, huh?

Guess I was the only one.

15-20 years ago, during the Texas Summer, so I was wearing shorts. I was doing some tactical excercises, but a too darn close to the steel pepper poppers. I ended up having to pull a very large bullet frag imbedded very deep in my leg with tweezers.
Bleed like a stuck pig forever. Should have gone to the hospital, but I knew there would be a ton of questions from the police.

Lesson - respect the steel ! And, if you wear shorts, stand further back.

Don't need a thread about gun stupidity.

Closed.
