Odd Iver johnson hammerless

I have found an odd Iver Johnson. It is a 3rd model hammerless, but it has a long barrel. None of my books mention a long barrel model. The serial # on the barrel and the frame match. It was shipped like this. Not very handy for concealment! Has anyone ever seen one like this? The blueing is worn but the action is basically as new. Nearly unfired! Just not stored well. Thanks for looking.

.
AFAIK, the Safety Hammerless was available with a 2", 3" 3-1/4", 4", 5" or 6" barrel.

Odd Iver johnson hammerless

I've got one just like it in 38 nickel 4" barrel.that my father gave me. I had hidden it back somewhere about 2 years ago and have yet to find where I put it.
Curious what you paid for it?
Have never seen that length barrel though.

I gave $85 for it at a local gun show. There are still some bargains out there if it ain't black and high capacity.

The 4, 5, and 6" barreled versions are pretty uncommon, but they still don't bring very high prices as you found out when you bought it.

The 5 and 6 inch barrels, while not common, are not rare and do not bring any premium. The overall condition of the firearm is the determining factor of value on these old Iver Johnson's.
