OK, I Did It...
Last night I ordered from Cabela's a 1851 Navy .36 Cal Revolver. I pondered ordering the Remington due to the top strap (or, whatever you call it) but decided on this one instead. I have always like the looks of this style of revolver.
I went with the steel framed one instead of the brass, since it seems to be the general opinion that it is the stronger when compared to brass. This is my first BP gun, so I can't wait until it gets here. I will post updates. BTW, to all who gave advice to my brass vs. steel question...thanks. I think I will eventually get a brass framed revolver just to have it, and because I like the looks. |

Congrats!!
You will have "loads" of fun and a total "blast". You might be surprised how accurate they can be. I have both, the Rem .44 & Navy .36. All are steel frame except 1 Rem .44. Like you, I like the looks of the .36. I have one Navy .36 & 2 Rem .44's only cause I sold one.
