Graf & Sons
I recently purchased primers from Graf & Sons and checked the box for delivery by UPS. I don’t know why I picked UPS, probably because I always see the damn brown trucks everywhere. Subtotal came to $159.74 for 6,000 primers. Shipping from Grafs is always free but they charge $4.95 handling ($0 handling if you use promotional code BLUE) Plus UPS Haz-mat charge of $25.00 for a grand total of $184.74. Or $30.79 per thousand primers, not bad considering the price just 6 months ago.
Then an amazing thing happened, a representative of Grafs called me saying that FedEx only charges $15.00 Haz-mat and that would save me $10. I was impressed, they did not have to do that, could have just shipped it, but they took the time to save me money. I will be buying from them again. Also I would like to thank Dillon for the promotional code BLUE, every little bit helps. $29.13/k primers shipped, I haven’t seen that in a while.

I buy most everything related to reloading from Grafs. They are a CLASS ACT.

In many different post across the internet it seems that ups is not the best way to ship anything gun related.
I've read of broken stocks, damaged guns, packages that look like they went around the wold in a tramp steamer!! No way wil I use ups for anything. |

Had some bullets shipped by a supplier that rhymes with Midway by UPS. Now I live near Myrtle Beach, SC. The bullets came here, got on a truck to be delivered to my home and after a week were then in Cerritos, CA. It took them another 2 weeks to get them to me, 4.5 weeks total. UPS wasn't much of a help and Midway tried to lie to me or make excuses about weather delays until I called BS on it but still wouldn't cancel or refund my money. No I try to avoid both of them, I like Midway normally but being lied to rubs me the wrong way. PV and Graf have been getting the bulk of my business and will continue to for a while.

>In many different post across the internet it seems that ups is not the best way to ship... AMEN! Last week I sent a trigger, hammer and sear in a double padded envelope (5-oz) using First Class mail. Since I used USPS software to generate a bar-coded shipping label, the package was tracked and delivered in 48-hours. All this for for less than $2.00! UPS can't come close to that. IIRC, if you watch for specials, Graf and Sons will pay the hazmat fee if your order is large enough. |

Zippy years ago I used to buy a custom 22 varment bullet, the maker would ship using the flat rate envelope. It's a good thing the mailman has a truck, 2000 55grain bullets add up to a weighty package.

Around here Fedex is all contractors and more than one they have not delivered due to weather concerns. UPS, Mail, school buses but FEDX shows weather delay. I called the office and dispatch tells me the contractor called in and that he thought the roads were going to be too bad. So my package that was to be delivered on Friday Shows up on Tuesday.

FEX-X shipping is cheaper across the board on everything, not just shooting stuff.

I wanted to ship some brass cases to a forum member and UPS would not ship them unless I went to a main distribution center, just because it had something to do with a firearm. Just brass cases. Ended up shiping USPS with no problems.

+1 on Graf and Sons
I have been going there since the late 60's where my Dad bought all of his reloading supplies way back before they had the mail order business. One of my friends from school is the general manager of Grafs |

I've had the best results with UPS and USPS. I've purchased from Grafs with good results. But I don't buy any products that have to charge a HAZ MAT fee to ship. From anyone. I am fortunate enough to be near a gun show where powders are $20-22lb and around $26 for small and large pistol primers. These prices are cash w/tax included. The only drawback is that I have to shell out $9 to get into the show, but for that I get to poke around and see what's cookin'.
