I would (and do) definatly crimp a 30-30 going in a tube mag...... Actualy I use the lee factory crimp die on all my calibers.

My 336 microgroove barrell didn't like 150 grain bullets at all. The 170 grain bullets shot really well. Just be aware you might experience a problem with the 150 grain bullets (mine looked like a shotgun pattern) but don't think it's the gun if that is the only bullet you are going to try.

My 336 didn't like 150's either. It shot some 180's I got at a gun show really well though. Of course, it also shot the factory leverevolution ammo poorly, but does much better when handloaded....
