When I finish cleaning a batch of brass
I sift the media into a tall trashcan and
leave it there till the next time. Then I
pour the media back into the tumbler.
Today I had a nasty surprise.
I had barely started pouring when I spotted
a brown recluse spider sprinting around the
bowl.
If you do not hate or fear spiders, one of
these things will turn you. On top of just
looking evil their venom contains a necrotizing
agent that literally kills the flesh around
a bite. I have heard of cases where surgery
was required to repair damaged tissue.
So if your equipment/components aren't in
bugproof containers, check it out before handling.
There might be more there than meets the eye.
