Mossberg 500 Cruiser Just in Case Shotgun?

What do you guys think? I can buy it for $327.00. I know the wisdom on pistol grip shotguns and have a Rem 870 with the Hogue Youth Overmolded Stock with the 12 LOP. I love it. I just thought this might be handy for travel.

Shop around... skip the water proof pvc pipe and get the gun for a tick over 200 bucks...

agreed with brent. thats just a marketing ploy. the gun is no different than another 500 internally.

Yeah a chinese knife and junk firstaid kit that was picked by a corporate marketing guy on the same team as the rolling thunder and roadblocker muzzle globs has surely got to worth a hunert bucks!

lol thats right i forgot about the survival kit..similar to what was found in the old rambo knives that flooded the market lol.

So total tube construction with sling in "you can't find me stealthy green" to include:

3 strike on anything matches
wire with keychain ring handles
dollar store first aid kit
dollar store knife
compass
and heck why not splurge on construction
smaller ammo tube affixed inside to hold 10 shells

Total construction cost
$40

Yeah, I saw that "Roadblocker" on the Mossberg website...couldn't help but wonder what possible use that .50 cal-looking muzzle brake could have on a shotgun. It doesn't even look good...looks more like it belongs on an artillary piece to me.

At least the stand off brake on the breacher doubles as a perp-poker.

mossberg has to do this kind of stuff because most of their customer base, along with remingtons non-sporting crowd, are of the tacticool persuasion. however, im pretty much "married to mossberg" now because of the durability and simplicity of their guns. even a lower-end 500 from big 5 can be conditioned and converted into a lifelong gun. i wouldnt even mind one of those roadblocker guns at this point provided those muzzle brakes can be removed (and sold lol).

yes, a no i think. shop around in pawn shops, secondhand, gun shops who dela in used guns, etc. al. get a deal on a short barrel 500 or 590 and do what you want with it from there. you can get a hogue tamer pistol grip which is vastly superior to the standard ones for like 30 bucks, if that...and that include sthe rubberized forend as well.

For a PGO just get a mav 88 with 18 inch barrel and a PGO all for under 230 bucks... A nice padded soft case is available for this size gun... mine has an ammo pouch that holds 6-8 rounds on the outside as well. Easier to pack in the vehicle out of sight too.

If you need a shotgun, it doesn't need to be pretending to be a 12 gauge pistol. Skip the pistol grip and get something with a full stock.

If compactness while travelling is an issue, get a coach gun that takes down easily, or if you want a repeater, get something like a Stevens 520 or 620 that takes down easily also. With 18.5" to 20" barrels, any of those will be no longer than the barrels when taken down.

The 870 'house guns' here with 18" barrels and 12.5" LOP stocks are only about an inch over a yard long fully assembled and ready to rock. You don't save enough in OAL (overall length) by sacrificing a shoulder stock to make it worth while IMHO...
