Had a problem with my 92FS this weekend: on occasion, the hammer would drop back to DA after a shot. Worn sear and/or hammer engagement surface?

If the hammer is following the slide it is most likely a worn sear and/or hammer notch. Have it looked at by a qualified smith.

Thanks, guys. I do my own smith.stuff (and no, I don't take it to a real smith when I break it even worse ). I've ordered a new sear and hammer from Brownell's. I haven't taken the pistol all the way down since I got back from the range, so I'm just guessing at the cause, but having the spares around can't be a Bad Thing.
